IFLC co-sponsors WISDOM Houses of Worship series at Kirk in the Hills

The InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit is collaborating with WISDOM (Women's Interfaith Solutions for Dialogue and Outreach in Metro Detroit) to support the Houses of Worship Series--opportunities for people of all backgrounds to visit and experience different faith traditions.

On October 30, Kirk in the Hills will welcome interfaith visitors to their 11 a.m. worship service, host a reception and lead a tour of the Gothic cathedral beginning at 1 p.m.  All men, women and their families who are interested in learning more about the Kirk's faith traditions, enjoying fellowship with others of different faith backgrounds, and touring the facility are invited.  The event is free and childcare is provided for children 12 and under.

The Kirk is a Presbyterian church situated on a 40-acre setting at 1340 West Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills.  The Gothic cathedral is modeled after Scotland's Melrose Abbey and is one of the finest examples of classic Gothic architecture in Southeastern Michigan.  During the tour, visitors will learn about treasures in wood, stone, tapestry, and stained glass that reflect the Kirk's religious heritage.

To register for one or all of the activities, please call the Kirk in the Hills office at (248) 626-2515 extention 117 or email amc@kirkinthehills.org by Tuesday, October 25.
