Activities of Partner organizations

My dear friends,

As you know, heavy rains in the Detroit area have led to extensive flooding in many neighborhoods from Westland and Livonia on the west side of the Detroit metro area, stretching across to Grosse Pointe Woods on the east.  It is estimated that between 1,000 and 3,000 homes are affected and will require some form of remediation.  The sooner we remove the water, mud, and drywall, the higher the likelihood of preventing the onset of mold and other complications in the homes.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are organizing, with Michigan VOAD, one of the relief efforts.

We have a truck with supplies arriving from Indianapolis, but while some supplies will be available, volunteers are encouraged to come with their own supplies. Click the link below for a more information or to sign up.

By the time we begin this work, all general COVID-19 restrictions in the state of Michigan will have been lifted.  Nevertheless, anyone who feels at-risk and desires to wear a mask should feel free to do so and should bring their own masks.

May the Lord guide each of you in your efforts to bless the lives of those in need.
